Willie
went to his forever home in Scituate MA on 12/22/2007
Hi Jeanne- FEb 2008
Just wanted to let you know how Willie is. He is doing great we love
him so much. He loves riding in the car now as soon as the door opens
he is in. He knows it means he is going to go to the park or golf course
to run around he loves it so. He also will just come to go do errands
with me he figures it is better than staying home.

Willie was picked up by animal control
and brought to the Shelter to wait out the mandatory 5 day holding
time to see if his owner was looking for him ! Because of his extremely
poor condition, it was apparent that no owner was going to claim Willie
and the Shelter had NO intentions of putting this 10 to 12 month old
puppy up for adoption .......... Willy was literally just waiting to
die by means of euthanasia !
It didn't take much to convince the Shelter Superintendent to turn
Willie over to our organization and so that is how we acquired this
poor little dog that was nothing more than skin and bones with barely
any hair on his body and who's skin from the tip of his nose to the
tip of his tail was covered with crusty, open, oozing sores !
No one could really tell what kind of dog Willy was, he was small,
(even by Golden Retriever puppy standards ), but by the shape of
his head and the ever so faint little glimmer that shinned in his
eyes, it was thought that a piece of a Golden Retriever was in there
somewhere ! A Vet checkup gave us hope that this little guy would
be able to make a complete and full recovery and so Willie began
being treated for his various maladies !
Medication has taken care of Willie's skin problems and allowed his
hair to grow back, good nutrition has added the much needed weight
to his body and loving care in a Foster Home now has Willie's tail
(that once hung limp) wagging non-stop !
It is obvious that Willie is a Golden Retriever mix and the Vet feels
that his small size is due to malnutrition during his growth period,
but Willy's heart, attitude and personality is ALL Golden Retriever
!
This once little lifeless dog is now full of vim and vigor that does
not let any grass grow under his feet, as he is always on the go
and ready to play !
Willie loves to play with other dogs and would make a great active
companion for a dog that needs a real playtime buddy !
From the depths of Sickness and Death Row ~~ to the height of Good
Health and a true Spirit of Life, could Willie, this little spunky
guy find a place in your heart and home ?????
Willie's Foster Mom can give you more info about this amazing little
dog !!
