Zack

Update in Late December 2009:

Zack is doing well in North Dakota (used to be in Shreveport LA) and loves his new family.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to take a minute and send you guys an email to wish you Merry Christmas and get a couple updated pictures of Zack to you.  He's doing well up here in ND, although I think his feet are still adjusting to the cold (its been about 20 below for the last couple weeks).  But he seems to be enjoying the snow and has adjusted well.  We've been taking regular trips to the Dakota Bark Park here in Minot and he's doing well socializing with the other dogs.  I still can't keep him interested in retrieving a ball, although when someone else throws the ball for their dog, they chase the ball and Zack happily chases them.  We've also discovered that he loves to swim!  We did that a lot in Shreveport's Black Bayou, but Minot just has the river.  However, he still gets excited and launches himself off the river bank in the most Golden retriever, picture perfect manner!  I attached a few updated pictures of him that I was able to take over the last few months.  He's still afraid of camera's and storm drains :)

Hope all is well.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

After a long term foster and a trial period with his new dad, Zack is happily adopted in June 2009.

Zack
Name: Zack
Age: 3yrs
Neutered: 2006
Heartworms: Negative

Zack was a healthy owner turn in whose owner felt that his needs required more time than she had. He has been a part of our family as a foster since July. His road to this webpage as adoptable has been full of ups and downs. With the exception of chronic ear infections like many Goldens, Zack’s health has been excellent all of his life.

He came to us a full grown dog with the personality of an eight week old puppy. He has learned better manners and become a very sweet and affectionate dog during the past six months. He came housebroken and has had very few accidents while in our care. Zack is easily excitable when visitors come over and is still learning how to greet them appropriately. He does much better after going for a long walk which he adores. He walks VERY well on the leash and knows basic commands, but he will literally talk back to you when he does not want to listen. He is still working on drop and must remain in a puppy proofed home for quite some time. He would love an owner who enjoys long walks or even runs daily! He enjoys going in his crate and often spends time in it at his own free will. Zack wants to and attempts to play with our two Goldens but does not know how. He would do best in a home without other pets since he is easily excited, but he is not aggressive with other animals.

Zack’s high energy level and puppy like nature make him more suitable for adult companion ; therefore, he would not be the best choice as an addition to a family with small children. He needs and deserves a very understanding owner who is willing to give him exercise and attention, and he will repay you with his loving eyes, constant cuddling, and hilarious personality! Please contact us if you think you might be the owner he is looking for.
